PIONIRSKA PROGA models LAYOUT-by ciro
hallo today i present e very intersing layout called in slovenian language''pionirska proga'' pioneering course was a narrow-gauge (track width: 760mm) children's railway, which was between 1948 and 1954 linking Ljubljana parts of Rose Valley, and Koseze Podutik.
Following the example of children's railways, which in 30 years occurred in the former Soviet Union, and then by other Eastern European countries, the 1948 deal with the subversive pioneering railway construction in Ljubljana. Construction began on 10 March, after three months, 10 June, have passed a test ride on Sunday 13th March is the line between Rose Valley and Podutikom inaugurated. On the line were three stations, in addition to both end of an interim in Koseze, which they named after important locations in WWII. All work (ticket sellers, conductors, train, wagon shunters, station chiefs, etc.). Were performed pioneers who have previously done the appropriate training.
After an initial strong interest (in 1948 they sold 49,830 in 1949 and 46,240 tickets), the number of passengers began to decline rapidly and operation of the railway was no longer viable and the revenue line could no longer be maintained. Therefore, in 1952 transferred to the Municipality of Ljubljana, where the following year concluded that it will be abandoned. The last train ride March 1954, immediately after the tracks were dismantled.
Immediately after the war, was the first five-year plan the construction of a similar pioneering station in Maribor on the left bank of the Drava river, but never put the rails.
