hallo
On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. A two million years old and 21 km long system of subterranean caves is one of the most easily accessible network of underground caves in the world. A ride by electrical train will be followed by a guided walk through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is a home of the mysterious, unique and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or human fish as it is popularly called here.

Hello Ciro,
very interesting your article and pictures of the postojna caves.
In the early 1970th when I was a young boy, my parents and me visited the postojna caves an I was very impressed and overwhelmed by the huge cave halls. Unfortunately I can not remeber that there was such a kind of a little train that would have had carried us visitors though the caves.
As having been a young boy at that time, normaly I think I should remember such a comfortable carrier very well, because I remember that I disliked the long hiking along the scenery of the plitvica falls in the summer heat the same summer vacations. Nevertheless the scenery there was very impressive too.
Best regards,
Ingo.
